1. Who we are
Yankee Sports ("we", "us") helps student-athletes from Serbia and the wider region find athletic and academic opportunities at colleges and universities in the United States. Yankee Sports is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: info@yankeesports.net (put "Data Protection" in the subject line).
2. What data we collect
- Application data — when you send the quick application form: first and last name, sport, email, phone number.
- Profile data — when you create a portal account: date of birth, gender, nationality, contact details, parent/guardian contact details, home address.
- Athletic data — sport, position, club, level, physical measurements, highlight videos and recruiting profile links.
- Academic data — school records, transcripts and diplomas, English test results, GPA, planned enrollment.
- Documents — files you upload to the portal, such as passport copies, bank statements, translated transcripts, housing applications, medical paperwork and evaluations.
- Eligibility data — NCAA / NAIA Eligibility Center registration details.
- Technical data — sign-in email, language preference and basic usage information needed to operate the portal.
3. Why we process it
- To assess your athletic and academic background and find suitable US colleges and programs.
- To present your profile to college coaches and athletic departments — only with your consent.
- To guide you through applications, eligibility registration, visa preparation and enrollment.
- To contact you about your application (that's why we ask for email and phone on the application form).
- To meet legal obligations and prevent misuse of the service.
4. Who we share it with
- US colleges, universities and coaches — profile and recruiting information, as part of the placement process you engaged us for.
- Service providers (processors) that run our infrastructure: Supabase (database and authentication, EU region), Cloudflare (document storage), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (email notifications). Each processes data only on our instructions.
- We never sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Placing student-athletes in the United States inherently requires transferring some of your data to US institutions. Where our processors transfer data outside Serbia / the EEA, they rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards. By using the service you acknowledge that recruiting information will be shared with US colleges as described above.
6. How long we keep it
We keep application form data until we have processed your inquiry and, if you do not become a client, no longer than 12 months. Client profile data and documents are kept for the duration of our engagement and as long as required for legal and contractual purposes, after which they are deleted.
7. Minors
Many of our applicants are under 18. For applicants who are minors we require the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian before processing profile data and documents. Parent/guardian contact details are collected as part of the profile for this reason.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@yankeesports.net. You may also lodge a complaint with the Serbian Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection (Poverenik).
9. Security
Data is stored with access controls that limit every account to its own records; documents are stored in private cloud storage accessible only through short-lived signed links; all traffic is encrypted in transit.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above always shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on the portal.
